Our Project

Roots of Resilience (RoR) is a transnational cooperation initiative addressing the challenges of climate emergencies and promoting environmental awareness among young people. The project places a special focus on the inclusion of marginalised youth and those with disabilities, providing practical tools to prevent and manage environmental crises, such as soil erosion and extreme weather events. Through non-formal education, RoR connects sustainability with active citizenship, creating a resilience model that is replicable across Europe.

Core Objectives

  • Youth Empowerment: Fostering the acquisition of green skills and practical abilities in young people aged 16 to 30 to tackle ecological challenges.
  • Inclusion and Diversity: Ensuring equitable access to environmental training by removing social and physical barriers for young people with fewer opportunities.
  • Innovation in Youth Work: Providing educators and youth workers with innovative educational tools that integrate sustainability into their daily practice.
  • Community Resilience: Strengthening the bond between youth and their local communities through participation in civil protection and climate action initiatives.

Results and Resources

  • Best Practice Manual: A multilingual educational resource gathering methodologies and strategies for environmental risk prevention and sustainability promotion.
  • Digital Community: An interactive platform and social channels serving as a hub for knowledge exchange and global awareness-raising.
  • Specialised Training: Theoretical and practical training programmes developed in collaboration with experts in civil protection and emergency management.
